Sitting here waiting for a client call to start. It’s 8pm.

This client is based out of the Sydney, Australia - so the timezones almost could not be more mis-aligned.

Yet they are the best client I’ve had yet.

Why?

I’ve been working with a coach I met in a mastermind and they’ve been helping me further refine the ICP I should be looking for when it comes to Waldron Consulting work.

I used to think the best clients would be small businesses in low-tech industries, and while on paper that makes sense, really what that led to in the past was clients who needed me - 24/7.

Not a fit when you have a wife, two kids, and are running multiple other endeavors. lol.

It turns out, having clients that are technically adept and able to run their own operations and even build some of their own basic integrations is actually super beneficial — allowing me to focus more on higher-impact/ROI strategic technical implementations.

So here’s to late nights with the best clients.

And if you’re spending late nights with clients that aren’t a fit — consider changing, or even cancelling, that arrangement.

And if you’re technically adept, but want to take your business to the next level — we should talk.
